What to Wear to a Wedding

Hello ladies! I love getting comments and emails from all of you, and have been trying to catch up on answering everyone that I can! Recently I've received a few emails asking about what to wear as a guest to a wedding. I realize that summer is closing in on us fast, but we still have a few more weeks to get in your summer wedding attire! So here it is! :)

If you are going to be in family pictures, try to match the color scheme of the bridal party, or at least wear a solid color so you don't stick out in any pictures. The only ones who should be standing out in the picture are the bride and groom! Bold or flashy patterns are a no-no.

Life and Style Linkup: Beachwear

Hey everyone! For this week's linkup we are showcasing our summer beachwear. Let's see those cute coverups, summer sunglasses, and of course some stylish swimsuits! Chelsey and Cristina were in Laguna this past weekend, which reminded me it's been too long since I've been there myself! 

Chris and I had so much fun at our beach picnic last week, you didn't have to twist our arm to get us back to Malibu so soon!

Armed with my self titled watermelon suit, heart sunnies, floppy hat, and of course some sunscreen, we headed down to our favorite beach. Once again, we had the place to ourselves this lovely morning and I'm not gonna lie, it was pretty wonderful.

Picnic Paradise

As summer is coming to an end, I find myself trying to hold on to every last drop of sunshine I possibly can! That's why Chris and I decided it was far too long since we've had a proper beach picnic, so we packed up and headed out to Malibu!

Honestly, this was one of the most fun days we've ever had living in SoCal. The weather was perfect, the beach was empty, and we had great food and wine to enjoy the whole day.

I don't know about you guys, but I'm not quite ready for summer to be over. With only four weeks left of the season, I'm getting in as much neon and bright whites as I can! I found this amazing bright neon clutch a few weeks ago and absolutely love it for fancy or casual date nights. As soon as I saw it, I knew it would be the perfect pop of color to accentuate this beautiful lace dress from Necessary Clothing.

Trail Mix Bars

I love a good trail mix bar. It's easy, convenient and tastes great! I originally wanted to find a great recipe to make some bars for our camping trip last weekend, but a combination of procrastination and not finding a recipe I liked resulted in no such bars.

I was really surprised by the first few "healthy" trail mix bars I came across. Yes, they had some good qualities like nuts and oats. But let's be real, two cups of sugar and a few sticks of butter? That's a candy bar people, and that's why it's the 'best trail mix bar you've ever tasted.' I have nothing against candy or sweets (see my Candy Cookie Bar post for proof!), just not when it's masquerading as a 'healthy' snack. If butter and sugar are the main ingredients, then let's call it what it is!

For my look this week I wanted to showcase this cute 7 layer necklace from Belle Boutique! I suppose it's not technically pearls, but the look is very similar. It's a new twist on the statement necklace and I love wearing it with lace, a simple t-shirt, or a fancy dress for a date night out. The combinations are endless with this one, and I want to order it in every color!

Follow Me On Instagram!

Hey everyone! If you follow me on Instagram already, you know that Chris and I spent the weekend on Catalina Island. Leave it to me to forget my nice camera at home...eek! I was left to using my iphone camera all weekend, but that meant I was able to post to Instagram more often!!

Catalina was tiring, but great! We went camping on the Island, which meant we had to carry everything we brought on our backs! The campsite was over a mile away from town, so we definitely got in some good exercise. My genius of a husband brought a pop-up tent, that literally transforms into a tent like magic, no messing with hooks or poles required! He's pretty awesome :)

Ponytail Don't Care

Ponytail, don't care! Ok, so it doesn't exactly rhyme, but it reminded me of some cute shirts I've seen online like this one here and here.

I love the look of a curly ponytail, but hate investing the time to curl each strand if I'm not going to wear it down. The best way to beat the system is to re-curl your hair from the day before. It's much faster and you won't regret pulling it back into a ponytail. If you're hair tends to get greasy, invest in some dry shampoo. I use this one from Sephora.

La Boulange

Chris and I were driving home from a friend's house the other day when a restaurant name caught my eye. The sign read 'La Boulange' and it only took a few seconds to realize why it sounded so familiar. I'm sure you've noticed the rebranding of Starbucks pastries about a year ago- the new pink pastry bags, new marketing, and an upgrade of new savory and sweet menu options.
