Picnic Paradise
As summer is coming to an end, I find myself trying to hold on to every last drop of sunshine I possibly can! That's why Chris and I decided it was far too long since we've had a proper beach picnic, so we packed up and headed out to Malibu!
Honestly, this was one of the most fun days we've ever had living in SoCal. The weather was perfect, the beach was empty, and we had great food and wine to enjoy the whole day.
This is the first time we've had the pleasure of drinking Stack Wine. I loved the concept from the start, but seeing them in action I realized just how incredibly convenient they really are. Each 'bottle' is portioned out into four wine glasses that are secured together until your ready to use. You just snap off the top glass, remove the seal, and enjoy!
Clean up is even easier, since you don't have to worry about broken glass or disposing of any heavy bottles. And the best part? The actual wine is just as good as it's glass bottle counterpart. The perfect way to kick back and enjoy the day, without the fuss of a corkscrew or messy spills from pouring. I'm excited to see where else we can take these. From movies in the park to a picnic after a long hike they are so versatile and easy to transport, the options seem endless!

Anyone who has ever visited us here in California has probably been brought to Mendocino Farms. It is without a doubt our number one go-to for a great meal. You just can't go wrong with their artisan style sandwiches and healthy sides.
We decided to order our sandwiches unassembled, then build them ourselves once we were at the beach. It was really fun to see all the unique ingredients come together to create the sandwiches we love so much!
{Mendocino Farms: Prosciutto and Chicken; Steak BLT}
As we assembled our picnic basket, Chris had the great idea to package our sides into mason jars for easy and convenient transport. It worked out great, and once again showed just how useful our overflowing collection of mason jars really is.

As if our main meal wasn't delicious enough, we had the best pastries and sweet treats for dessert! Rachel from Figgy Bakery provided us with some of her delectable pastries and decadent cupcakes. Figgy is no ordinary bakery. Rachel prides herself on baking with the best organic, whole food ingredients to nourish your body while satisfying your taste buds! And let me tell you, you can definitely taste the difference in quality.
Take this S'more cupcake for example. You already know I love anything in this category, but how can you not love a marshmallow, chocolate, and graham-cracker cupcake?! Knowing that it's made with an organic and whole foods approach to baking, I can enjoy it without the usual regret. I also love that she adds an extra layer of frosting in the middle for even more deliciousness. Because let's be honest, isn't the frosting the best part?!
{Figgy Bakery c/o: Mini Cinnamon Apple Pies; Dark Chocolate Brownies with Caramel Drizzle; S'mores Cupcakes; Chocolate Banana Cupcakes }
For my outfit I wanted something loose and breezy, and what better brand to accomplish that than Free People! White is always a safe choice for photographs at the beach, because it lets the blues and greens of the ocean really pop. The only jewelry I wore today was my Sira & Mara necklace that was a perfect match for that turquoise blue water!

We both brought along our current paperbacks- I just started 'The Giver', and Chris is re-reading 'And Then There Were None.' We ended the day with a quick dip in the ocean. It was pretty chilly, but we couldn't pass up cooling off after a long hard day of relaxing and doing nothing ;)

They are great! All of their dresses and tops are very loose-fitting which translates into very comfortable to wear to the beach! :) The quality of the fabric is great too!

How fun!! You just can't go wrong with a summer picnic! :)
We love Agatha Christie books! This one is probably our all-time fav of hers.
OK seriously, cutest picnic EVER!!! And stack wine is so genius. I'll definitely be purchasing those! We just went to see The Giver in theaters tonight and we both walked out thinking it was the best movie we've seen. I haven't read the book, but books are always better so you're definitely in for a treat. XO
