Sweet Orange Salmon
With Spring just around the corner, I felt like brightening up our house with some new plants and a fresh menu for dinner.
Salmon dishes are always hit or miss for me. It seems like they are always mushy, dry, bland or some combination of the three. Then five years ago my mom bought me a cookbook that introduced me to the best recipe for salmon I've ever had to this day. Christopher, not a fan of salmon, was reluctant to try it the first time I mentioned it. Knowing he would like it, I made it for dinner anyways and he absolutely loved it. It's now a regular meal around our house, particularly when spring and summer roll around.

Turquoise Tuesday: Mint Green
I love all shades of turquoise. From the bluest of blues to aqua and mint, I can't get enough!
This Tuesday Christopher wanted to take me out to happy hour at one of our favorite Beverly Hills spots, Scarpetta (more about this hot spot here).
Getting into the spring mindset, I felt like rockin' some floral and bright colors. This cute top from Anthropologie works great for happy hour with its wrap-around style and flirty peplum silhouette.

Rise and Shine: Griffith Park
The best part about waking up at 6 am in Los Angeles is that you feel like you have the city to yourself. No traffic, no crowds, just open roads and quiet streets. Not to mention the sense of accomplishment you feel from waking up at the break of dawn. The crisp morning air, that feeling of a fresh start, and knowing you have the entire day ahead of you with endless possibilities.

Style: One Sweater, Three Ways
One of my favorite sweaters is a Free People gem I found on sale ($30!) at Nordstrom Rack. I'm in love with the intricate detail at the neckline. The lace and gem stones make this top truly unique and so fun to wear.
An off-white sweater goes with everything, and can be worked into every season. Although it's sweater status could make it seem more like a fall or winter item, I actually have more fun pairing it with skirts and bright colors for spring and summer.
If you have an off-white sweater you love, here are a few fun ideas on how to style it!

The Re-do to my Re-do
I absolutely LOVE a good re-do project. The opportunity to see potential
in something old, or in this case raw and boring, and turn it into a completely
customized piece is so much fun. Whether it’s a dress that needs some added
lace or a flea market find that you can maneuver into a cool lighting piece- it’s
all about creativity!!
