London Baby!

Design Life Diaries: London #pub #travel

I will always remember my first trip to Europe. There were so many places to see and explore, I couldn't get enough! When we first arrived in London, our hotel room at the beautiful Claridge's wasn't quite ready. We decided to kill some time exploring the area around our hotel. Jet-legged and hungry, we were on the prowl for a laid-back pub to kick up our feet and relax with some good food.

It didn't take us long to find some good options, but we ended up wandering into the Iron Duke. I was sold on the overflowing flowers out front, and Chris loved the authentic London-esque interior. Quiet and unassuming, this was exactly what we were looking to find.

In true London style, Chris ordered the fish and chips, while I had the Beef Wellington. The food was good, but the great atmosphere is what would bring me back. I think we weren't fully ready for the transition from California's veggie centric menus to London's full and hearty dishes. Salads are almost non-existent, which is a good excuse to indulge in some comfort food!

Next time we're in London, we will definitely be stopping in at this hidden gem for a few drinks!
